Fault Point: Interface Chip Damage
Cause Analysis: The GPIB controller chip (such as TI TUSB3410) suffers from pin short-circuits due to electrostatic discharge (ESD), causing the device to fail to respond to SCPI commands.

Fault Point: Temperature Control Failure
Cause Analysis: The thermoelectric cooler (TEC) inside the 81640A unit cracks on its ceramic substrate due to prolonged operation at extreme temperatures (>50°C), resulting in unstable control of the laser temperature. For every 10°C increase in ambient temperature, the wavelength drift increases by 0.015nm.
