The VIAVI T-BERD / MTS-5800-GIGE handheld network tester is a 1G Ethernet package to help install, open, and maintain the fiber network. It supports the traditional and emerging technologies required to handle various network applications (including metro/core, mobile backhaul and business service installation).
Applications of T-BERD / MTS-5800-GIGE include:
Mobile and backhaul characterization, verification and troubleshooting
Converged Ethernet/IP network testing and troubleshooting
Fiber link characterization and troubleshooting
Installation and maintenance of OTN and old SONET/SDH and TDM/PDH networks
Remote radio head (RRH) testing of wireless base stations, including CPRI 1-9 rates
PIM and interference test on optical link (RFoCPRI)
Next-generation Fronthaul eCPRI support
